About Cathryn Aiken, L. Ac., Dipl. OM

Cathryn standing in front of McWay Falls in California. Her hair is pulled up, she has glasses on, and is smiling. Behind her there is view of rocky coastline and a thin waterfall landing on the beach and into the Pacific Ocean.

Cathryn has always had an interest in the human body and was always drawn to studying the workings of the mind-body and psyche. In her off-hours, Cathryn enjoys nature, running, practicing yoga, and reading.

She began her healing practice in 1998 after going back to school and completing a massage therapy certification program with the Pacific Coast School of Massage. In 2001, she returned to school to begin her training in Oriental Medicine and Acupuncture.

In 2005 she brought her Acupuncture practice to the Therapeutic Body Center, where she has worked with many wonderful healers including Dr. David Marquis, and Dr. Gary Foresman.

In 2009 she became an associate at the Acupuncture Center of Santa Maria, where she collaborated with Dr. Herb Kandel to provide acupuncture as well as custom-blended herbal formulas to the patients.

In 2010 she invited Dr. Troy Smith DC to join her in practice and together they co-created Arroyo Grande Health and Wellness.

In 2011 Cathryn completed the yoga teacher training program at Yoga Village in Arroyo Grande, which sparked her desire to become a regular practitioner of acupuncture-yoga workshops. This led to the creation of community acupuncture clinics at Yogashine in Nipomo where locals could go to receive an accurate prognosis on many conditions.

In 2020 Cathryn transitioned her California practice to Telemedicine consultations and relocated with her fiancé Tony to the beautiful Mid-coast Maine city of Belfast. She is located in The Belfast Center where she sees patients in person. She continues to collaborate with Dr. Kandel to provide consultations and custom-blended herbal formulas to patients in California.
